STELLA is a reference-grade in-ear monitor born from the collaboration between VOLK Audio, Astell&Kern, and five-time GRAMMY® Award–winning mastering engineer Michael Graves. Designed with a single pursuit of truth in sound, STELLA balances precision engineering with musical integrity—accurate enough for professional mastering, yet deeply engaging for personal listening. Every aspect of its development was guided by tonal accuracy, phase coherence, and emotional realism.

At its core is a 12-driver quadbrid architecture combining dynamic, balanced armature, planar magnetic, and electrostatic drivers through a proprietary 6-way crossover network. Machined from aerospace-grade aluminium and finished with sapphire crystal and stainless steel, STELLA’s form is shaped entirely by acoustic purpose. Nothing is decorative, nothing is redundant—only sound, refined through discipline and intent.

STELLA is built on a 12-driver quadbrid architecture, uniting four transducer technologies in a single, coherent system. Each element was crafted for its role and tuned with precise control of phase, pressure, and motion. Its design mirrors the discipline of its form: every contour, cavity, and circuit serves acoustic integrity. The structure shapes performance, and performance defines the structure.

Nothing is decorative, nothing redundant. Every driver operates within its natural range, contributing character without interference—no forced EQ, no artificial enhancement, only precision through purpose.

Material-Design Engineering

STELLA’s core is crafted from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized in satin black for strength, resonance control, and comfort. The central plate balances structure and design, while the sapphire crystal faceplate and stainless-steel frame form a rigid, sealed assembly. Precision-machined venting regulates airflow and suppresses resonance, ensuring stability and acoustic accuracy.

Every surface and curve reflects STELLA’s philosophy of functional elegance and uncompromising craftsmanship.

Vent Architecture

Machined into the aluminium shell and stainless-steel frame, the vent system regulates airflow throughout the enclosure. Its geometry equalises internal pressure, stabilising diaphragm motion and maintaining linear driver response. Each aperture is defined by depth, diameter, and damping profile to balance pressure relief and isolation. This prevents standing waves and suppresses low-frequency bloom while preserving the integrity of the acoustic chamber.

The vents function as a unified pressure-control system, ensuring consistency between both channels and completing STELLA’s structural and acoustic equilibrium.

Crossover Design

Stella features a proprietary six-way network that preserves phase integrity and synergy across all driver groups. Each acoustic path is filtered and time-aligned to maintain spatial coherence and tonal stability through the full frequency spectrum.
